Acupuncture Overview

Acupuncture

The word “acupuncture” is derived from two Latin words “acus” which means “needle” and “punctura” which means ‘to penetrate’. The word “acupuncture” therefore means ‘to penetrate with a needle’.

Acupuncture is a form of Alternative medicine. It is commonly used for pain relief, though it is also used to treat a wide range of conditions. Acupuncture is the stimulation of specific acupuncture points along the skin of the body using thin needles.
